February Favourites

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Hey Guys,
So it's getting towards the end of February and so it's time for my favourites post. Most of my favourites of the month were the same as last month but I've only written about the new items so I'm sorry if it's so short. I also just wanted to mention that all the products mentioned are linked if you click on them. This will be the same for all my blog posts from now on.

1. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is a new product for me and I've absolutely loved it this month, I've used it nearly everyday. It's so creamy and gives great coverage. I'm not going to go on about it too much because I have an upcoming review on this product.

2. Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush
Of all of my 3 Real Techniques Brushes, this brush was my least used brush until this month. I'd always used this brush for eyeshadow but this month I started using it for concealer and I absolutely love it. It blends concealer so well and makes your skin look flawless. I love it.

3. Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Green Berry
As you know from my recent haul, I bought this nail polish because I loved the colour. it really stood out to me and it looks just as great on. This colour has been on my toenails constantly and my fingernails most weekends.

4. Benefit The POREfessional Primer
This month I decided to try the Benefit POREfessional primer which minimises the appearance of pores and I have really loved it.

5. L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturizer
I really needed a good quality moisturiser so I tried this one. I hadn't seen any reviews or anything so it was quite a risk but it was worth  it because this makes your skin so soft and refreshed. I'm going to be reviewing it in the next few weeks so I'll tell you more about it then.

6. Decleor Spot Treatment
I used to really love this but then I swapped products to a Neutrogena Spot Treatment and Tea Tree Oil. Recently I've gone back to it and it has cleared my skin so much.

7. Twitter
So this is slightly different to my other favourites. I have recently joined twitter and I have to say, I really love it! I have got a personal account as well as an account for PinkCupcake7 so if you want to follow that feel free. Its @pinkcupcake7_xo

Those are my favourites for this month. Please comment your favourites below or email me, I'd love to try out those too.

Lets Talk…

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
Hi guys,

I know that today isn't one of my posting days but this is just a post that I wanted to do, the rest of my posts this week will be continuing as usual. Today I'm going to do a similar post to the 'your wishes' post in December. I'm going to ask you what you want me to feature on my blog. I realise that for some people, this blog may be extremely boring but I want to try and do it every couple of months just so that I can stay in touch with you guys and you get what you want. I have to say, I've had a lot of times when I have not known what to post because posting 4 days a week can easily make you run out of things so please, if you have any ideas or requests comment below. I will do more videos, tutorials, tags, reviews, anything that you want. Just let me know in the comments or reach me at I would be thrilled to receive emails from you guys and reply.

So beautybyeden and I love Pretty Little Liars and one day we were trying out the liars makeup looks and fashion etc.. We had an idea, each month I'm going to do a week where I will only post things to do with that theme, Pretty Little Liars being an example of the theme. I would do OOTDs, makeup looks, tags and all sorts of things like that. I would love to do this so comment below your thoughts on these themed weeks every month and any themes you'd like to see.

Just A Few Questions…

I'm going to write some questions and feel free to choose which to answer or answer them all. It would be a great help to me.
1. What is your favourite type of post? (tag, review, tutorial, video etc)

2. Do you prefer beauty, fashion or lifestyle related posts?

3. Do you prefer it when I do longer detailed posts or short posts?

4. Do you prefer it when I have lots of pictures or just a few?

5. How often would you like me to post?

6. What has been your favourite of my posts so far?

7. How often do you look at my blog?

8. What is your favourite thing about my blog?

9. What do you dislike about my blog?

10. Any ways you can think of that would improve my blog in any way?

I cannot thank those who answer and comment enough, it really is a huge help and I will do my best to meet your wishes. Thank you!

My Favourite Songs

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
I love music, its my hobby, I love every aspect of it, I play guitar, a bit of keyboard, would love to play the piano and I love listening to it too. If you read my Christmas List then you'll know that for Christmas I wanted a record player. I was very grateful that I did actually receive a record player. I also have a cd player, iPod, radio etc etc… so its safe to say that I love music and know a lot of songs. Because of this, its is very difficult to narrow it down to my favourite songs but I have managed to and I thought I'd let you know what my favourite songs are and maybe you might want to give them a listen.

1. Bad Day by Daniel Powter
Chances are you've probably heard this song before but may not recognise the name. I just feel that this is a really happy, uplifting song and I love it. Listen to it here:

2. She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5
I just love how romantic and sweet this song is and think that a lot of people will like it. Listen to it here:

3. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
This is from the movie Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and so for those twilight fans amongst you, you'll know what a great song this is but for those of you that hate Twilight and are putting off listening to this, you really should, its a great, sweet song and I love it. Listen to it here:

4. Hey, Soul Sister by Train
Again, you've probably heard this song before, its a very upbeat, "feel good" track, listen to it here:

5. How To Save A Life by The Fray
I have not yet come across a person that doesn't love this song! Listen to it here:

6. Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's
It just has such nice lyrics and I really like it. Listen to it here:

7. Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer
This song is such an "feel better" song, if you're having a bad day or are feeling down, I think that listening to this song can really make you feel better. Listen to it here:

So these are all great songs and it really is difficult for me to narrow my favourites down so these really are great songs.

Covergirl Smoochies Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Hey guys,
Today I'm going to be reviewing the Covergirl Smoochies. I have recently purchased 2 of them from Walgreens (see my mini beauty haul post) and decided to review them for you today.

So I got them in the colours 265 smooch and 220 text me which are a light pink and deeper purpley red. These are tinted lip balms and are quite similar to Maybellines BabyLips. They are very moisturising and smell amazing, quite fruity. Covergirl is an American makeup brand so I don't think that you can purchase these in the UK but like I said the Maybelline Baby Lips are very similar. To see my review on those click here.

If you see the swatches below, you can tell that they are quite sheer which I personally like because it means that you can easily apply them throughout the day without needing a mirror. They also have a very subtle sparkle which is something that really makes this lip product stand out from others.

I really like these lip balms and will probably buy some more. I also love the colours I bought especially 'smooch' because it looks very subtle and natural but just gives your lips a healthy looking colour. These are available in 12 colours, all of which are very pretty. I would recommend these lip balms because they're very inexpensive at only $5.99 and are good products.

Shopping Haul

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 3 comments
Hi everyone!

A few weeks back, I went to my nearest shopping mall and bought quite a few products. The things I've got to tell you about in my haul today are a mixture of beauty, fashion and lifestyle.

So i'm trying to restrain myself from buying too much makeup so I only bought 2 beauty items. The first one is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair which I have been wanting for quite a while now. I'll eventually be doing a review on this product but I want to wait a good few weeks before doing so because I know lots of people who loved it at first but then started to hate it so I want to really get a feel for it before talking to you about it. The second beauty product is a BarryM Gelly Nail polish. It's a really nice turquoise colour (my favourite colour) and I just love it. The fact that its a gelly polish means it stays on much longer too.

I didn't buy all that much because I wanted to save my money for going to Florida with my best friend but I did buy some items. I bought a jumper from Internacionale which I really like. It's a lovely coral/orange colour with holes at the bottom. What really caught my eye about this jumper was that it zipped up the back enabling you to wear it in many different ways. It was from the kids section because I wanted it to be quite short. I love this jumper. I also bought some plain black ballet flats for school an then some with slightly more detail because the toes have an aztec pattern. These were really cheap from New Look and I love them, they are very comfy too.

I had some book vouchers for Waterstones left over from Christmas so I bought 2 books. I bought 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green which I'm really looking forward to read because I've heard so many people rave about it and it is being made into a film so I want to give it a try. I also bought 'Sister Missing' by Sophie Mckenzie, the second book from the 'Girl Missing' series. I loved the first book, it was one of the first books that I couldn't put down so when I heard there was more, I was desperate to read those too. I also bought a music book for me to play on my guitar.

As you know, I've been loving candles recently! I received the Yankee Candle Christmas Cookie for Christmas and by the end of January, I'd burnt it out because I lit it so often. I loved the scent and it was so strong so I wanted to repurchase it despite it being Christmas. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy a full size or even a small one, the only one I could find was a sample size so I settled for that and purchased 3 as they were only £1.75 each. I also got a candle pot holder to match my others in my room to put the sample sized candles in. I also got another candle in Frankincense and Myrrh, this smells great too and I'm looking forward to using it in the warmer months.

I have a real sweet-tooth so I just had to get some toffee from Thorntons and some liquorice flyers from a traditional sweet shop!

Whilst I was in a stationary shop, I saw some neon pens to write on glass with. I have a reminder glass board in bedroom and these really appealed to me.

Thats all I bought on my haul. I hope you enjoy these haul posts. Thanks for reading.

DIY: Makeup brush holder

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Hi guys!
Today I'm going to show you how to make a cute little pot for your room. You can store lots of things in this like pens, lip balms, money but I use it to hold my makeup brushes. My best friend harrietjacksonx uses hers as a wish jar and she's done a post on how to make her wide jar so check that out, it's a great tutorial.

I used all materials that I have around the house to make this. Heres what you'll need:

  • Some kind of pot. (You can use a glass, cup, empty candle container, or I just used an empty food jar.)
  • Spray Paint (I used red spray paint but you can use whatever colour you want. I didn't have any so I borrowed some from my friend so before buying some ask around to see if someone will lend you some instead.)
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Tape or glue
  • Newspaper
  • Disposable gloves or a carrier bag

1. So firstly, if your jar has a plastic label on it, soak it in hot water for 30 minutes. Then peel of scrub the label off. Then leave it to dry upside down or dry it yourself.

2. Now take some paper and draw a design on it. I drew love hearts with my paint being red but you can draw whatever pattern you'd like. Also make sure it will fit onto your jar.

3. Now cut out your design.

4. Now using tape or glue, stick it to our jar. If you are using tape, make sure your roll it into a small ball and then stick it down.

5. Next, go into a room with lots of air or outside. I went into my garage and let the air come in. I would have done it outside but it was a windy day so if you can, I would suggest doing it outside to release the fumes. Anyway, in your chosen area, lay lots of newspaper or scrap paper down and put your jar onto of it.

6. Then shake your spray paint, there should be instructions on the back informing you on how to use it correctly so follow those and spray paint your jar. Try and get the colour as evenly distributed as possible. Also make sure you cover your mouth and nose with a mask or your shirt to avoid inhaling fumes. Also I would suggest putting some disposable gloves on to avoid getting the spray paint only your hands when turning the jar or if you don't have any do like I did and put a plastic bag over your hand secured with a hair band around your wrist.

7. Now leave it to dry for as long as it says on the back of the can. For me, this was 3 hours but leave it for longer if possible just to allow it to dry completely.

8. Once your jar is dry, I fiddled around with the love hearts to make them a bit more 3D but you can change it to however you like it. Now your makeup brush holder is ready to use!

If you try this out, be sure to send me a picture at I would love to see how they turned out and get more ideas for the future!

Wreck This Journals

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 6 comments
Hey guys,
So you have all probably heard of Wreck This Journals and are probably wondering what they are. They are books that you do different activities in. It tells you different things to do on each page ranging from things like "Colour this entire page" to "Fill this page with fruit stickers" to "Rub this page on a dirty car". There is a large range of different activities and is a very fun project for you and your friends to do. It is quite cheap at £5.99 on average and is a great product. There are also other books such as "This is not a book" from the same author to also do. Below are some images and a video of my so far completed pages of my Wreck this Journal.

Thank you for reading! I would definitely recommend purchasing one of these or even for your friends, I bought my best friend one for Christmas and she loves them as much as I do.

Real Techniques Makeup Brushes Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 5 comments
Hi guys,

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Real techniques makeup brushes as you can see from the title. I got 3 of these brushes for Christmas and really have been enjoying them so I thought I'd share with you what I like and dislike about the products.

I really like all 3 of these brushes. They all make it extremely easy to apply your makeup well, picking up the right amount of products and blending it very well. I use the foundation brush to blend in concealer and for liquid foundation because I find that it gives you flawless coverage. Personally, I think that the product you use with these brushes doesn't matter as much because they make it look great anyway. A concealer that I had never thought gave great coverage, suddenly turned into my go-to concealer once I started to use these brushes.

The only down-side is that when I got these brushes, the foundation brush actually shed a lot of bristles. When I first started using it, bristles would just fall out and often get caught up in my foundation. This is a minor thing because it doesn't seem to happen anymore, only the first couple of times I used it. Despite this flaw, I would still buy this brush again because it is great quality. I also look forward to getting more and building my collection of these brushes.

This will have been a while ago now but I still thought I'd share with you some things I bought. This isn't just a beauty haul although most of the products are beauty products. I'm also going to be reviewing some of these products in the future and if you have any specific products you'd like me to review then please comment below.

So whilst I was there, I got the most recent edition (at that time) of Seventeen Magazine. I LOVE tat magazine and can't wait for each issue! I also picked up "What To Expect When You're Expecting" DVD because it was only £5 from the valentines day section. I also saw some really nice grey long socks to wear with boots. I love the knee high socks to wear with leggings and boots and I really liked the pattern on these.

Now moving onto hair care products. I needed some more shampoo and you know how much I love the Dove Shampoos so I bought 2 more of those. I also picked up some heat protecting spray because I'd run out of that. I got one by Tresemme that I usually get.

I bought quite a lot of skincare products because I really like to look after my skin and try new products. I got some cotton buds (Q-tips) because I needed some more of those. I also got the Witch Pore Minimising Gel wash because I've heard harrietjacksonx rave about how much she loves this. I also picked up a new moisturiser because I've always used Simples moisturiser but my skin has been really dry recently and its not been doing much for it. I got L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturizer and I love it.

As far as makeup goes, I went wanting to get 2 products: Maybelline The Rocket waterproof mascara and the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya but they only had the mascara in stock. My best friend harrietjacksonx was shopping that day so I asked her to get the other product for me. I'll be doing a review on some of those shortly.

As you know, I've been loving my Yankee Candle in Christmas Cookie and light it all the time. I use so many matches lighting it over and over and have burnt my finger so many times so I bought a candle lighter which is so good.

Happy Valentines Day!

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Happy Valentines day everyone! I hope you have a great day today and don't forget to tell people that you love them. It doesn't have to be your girlfriend or boyfriend but remember to tell family and friends what they mean to you.

I also wanted to say that I love all of you who read my all my posts. It means so much to me and I feel so honoured that you enjoy reading my blog. Thank you.

Since it's Valentines Day, I've put together a short Valentines Day themed video. It's not great standard or anything but I just wanted to give it a go. You can only watch it on computers. Thank you to my sister for helping me to make this video, she had some great ideas.

Have a great day. :*

Favourite Movies

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 3 comments
Hi guys,
I've been meaning to do a non-beauty related post for a while now but just couldn't think of one to do so when my best friend gave me this idea, I thought I use it. I am one for watching lots of tv and movies  so I have seen quite a fair share of movies. I have a very large DVD collection which my friends are always impressed by and often go to the cinema so to name favourite films is a difficult task for me, to pick several favourites is tricky but if I had to, these would be on my list:
This is in no order at all by the way and there are a lot because I just couldn't narrow it down.

  • Titanic: So this is a classic, I actually daren't watch it until like last year but now I just love it. I love a good love story!

  • Any Nicholas Sparks Films (Safe Haven, The Notebook, The Lucky One, Dear John, Nights in Rodanthe, The Last Song…): Every single one of these make my favourites list. I just think he is an extremely talented author and I love all of these lovestorys. And the guys in it… Zac Efron, Josh Duhamel, Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Liam Hemsworth…

  • The Vow: Yet another love story! I just love this film and the fact that its a true sooty makes it even more magical.
  • Footloose (The new version): I love the upbeat dance movies and this one especially. I could watch this on repeat, its just so fun! (And I love Julianne Hough's clothes in it :0 )
  • The Holiday: I've always loved this film, its just so cute and I watch it so often!
  • Pretty Woman: Who doesn't love Pretty Women!?
  • 13 Going On 30: This film is so fun and the clothes :0
  • Pitch Perfect: Again, I love this film, its so fun and I just watch it endless times!
I have lots of films I love, some more include: the Taken films (I'm actually like addicted to these, can't wait for taken 3!), Killers, Life As We Know It, The Twilight Saga, The Hunger Games Triology and as far as Disney goes… I love Tangled and I'm OBSESSED with Frozen!!

Any Films you'd recommend?

Valentines Day Makeup Look

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
Hi guys,
So as you all know, Friday is Valentines Day! I personally don't have any plans :( but I know that lots of you will so today I'm going to give you a possible Valentines Day Makeup Look.

I have used mainly drugstore makeup in this video but a couple of high-end brands like mac. The products that I've used aren't very important anyway though, it's mainly how I've achieved the look. There will be dupes for all of my products used.

Products used:
Fresh Minerals Powder Foundation
Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
Stila Blush
Mac Limited Edition Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette
Pink Eyeshadow (Sorry don't know the name)
Rimmel London Eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal Mascara
Covergirl Smoochies
Eyelash Curler
Real Techniques makeup brushes

Use a primer and apply all over your face.
1. Take a powder brush and work the powder foundation into your skin. Make sure you blend it into your hairline and neck so that you don't have a foundation line.

2. Use the sponge on the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer to dab under your eyes and over any blemishes. Then take a foundation brush (I use a flat one) and pat the concealer onto your skin. The brush just gives more coverage for a more flawless finish.

3. Take the Rimmel Stay Matte powder and the same brush you used for your powder foundation and put it in your t-zone (Forehead and nose) and anywhere else you get oily.

4. Take your blush. (In my case I used a Stila blush) Then use a blush brush or I used the powder brush from earlier. Smile and apply to the apples of your cheeks.

5. Now would be the time to apply an eyeshadow primer but I just usually use my normal primer. Then take I take the lightest colour on my Mac palette (A light brown/cream) and apply it with a domed shadow brush all over your eyelid. This creates a base for your eyeshadow.

6. Now take a pink shadow and apply it over the top of the other colour.

7. Then I take the second colour of my Mac Palette (A shimmery gold) and apply it on the outer of your eyelid working your way in. This will create dimension to your eyelid and will almost have a neutral pink smokey look.

8. Then I take my black Rimmel Eyeliner and line my tight line. We don't want your eyes to look too black because this is just a very natural pink look for Valentines Day.

9. Then I curl my lashes and apply a coat of Maybellines Colossal Mascara and apply it to my top and bottom lashes.

10. Now I fill in my brows with Maybelline's Master shape Brow Pencil.

11. Finally I apply a pink Covergirl Smoochies to my lips and blend it in further with my middle finger.

That is the completed look! I hope it works out for you. It's quite a natural pink look and I think its ideal for Valentines Day. The pictures below show the Eye look I got:

Feel free to experiment and make this look your own. If you try this look send me a picture at:
or send me a picture of how you did your makeup for Valentines Day. I'd love to see how it turned out!
