Exciting New Purchases

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 8 comments
This is a really small haul but to be honest I was extremely pleased with my purchases so I thought I would share them with you.

Firstly I'll share the product I was most excited about. I got the Clarisonic Mia from Dillards. I have always wanted to try out a Clarisonic because they get so much hype from the beauty world. I have got a dupe from Olay but I wanted to try the real thing and there was a great deal on. I bought it for $99 which is great in comparison to the usual costs for a Clarisonic. It also contained a charger and two cleansers. Then when I got to the checkout, I got a free bag for it and another two cleansers so I was really pleased with this purchase. I will review it after having used it for a while and might even do a comparison of the drugstore version and the real deal.

Also from Dillards I bought the Clinique Acne Solutions gel. Although I don't have acne I like to use these kinds of spot treatments for breakouts. I haven heard good things about this and wanted to try it myself. It cost $25.

My next purchase, also from Dillards, was these wedges. They are really cute for Summer and i thought they would look nice with a day dress. They cost $69.99 which seems expensive but I will get a lot of wear out of them.

My final purchase was this skater skirt from Charlotte Russe, it was a really good price at $16 and I'm looking forward to wearing it.

July Favourites

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
Hey guys,
I've just realised that I haven't done a Favourites post in a really long time so I thought I'd do one today for you. I think my last favourites post was in March so I will leave that linked here.

Anyway, I've been trying out a lot of new products this month because I have been in my Florida home for most of it. I don't like to bring all of my beauty products out with me so I tend to do some shopping for new things to leave here.

1. Mac Face and Body Foundation
One thing that I have bought which I am really enjoying is the Mac Face and Body Foundation. I bought this is my Florida Mall Haul post and I have been using it alot during the summer. I don't like to wear much makeup in the Summer considering its 100 degrees outside so I like this really light coverage foundation. I will be doing a review on this soon so I'll talk about it some more then.

2. Burts Bees Lip Balms
I have also been really liking the Burts Bees Lip Balms. I have all of them except one I think and I really like them. I find them very hydrating to the lips and always have one on me. Again, I will review these soon so I won't talk too much about them now.

3. Sally Hansens Gel Polish in 'Blue My Mind'
Another July Favourite has been Sally Hansens Gel Nail Polish in 'Blue My Mind'. I really love the colour of this and I think its a very similar shade to Barry M's Gelly Polish in Blue Grape if anybody would like an alternative to gel polishes.

4. Toni and Guy's Shampoo for Fine Hair
As far as hair goes, this month I have been really enjoying Toni and Guy's Shampoo for Fine Hair. I have terribly fine hair and I have found that this does give me slightly more volume and thickness. I have tried other thickening shampoos but none have compared to this one by Toni and Guy.

5. Friends
I have been watching Friends such a lot this month. I have always loved it but when i'm in America I watch it every night.

6. Pretty Little Liars Season 5
If you don't watch Pretty Little Liars then you NEED to! It is such a great tv show and this season in particular. I would say that if you want to begin watching this show then you must start from season 1 though because there is such a lot happens in each episode that it would be extremely difficult to follow if you started at season 5.

7. 5 Seconds of Summers New Album
I am in love with this album. I listen to it so often and I think its great. I was fortunate to see them in Concert as the opening act to One Direction and they are also incredible live.

8. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood
I am so obsessed with this app! I was hesitant to get it because I thought it would be quite a pointless app but it really isn't. Its worth all the hype it gets and I would really recommend getting it. If you want to play with me then my games centre name is in my Whats on My iPhone post which I will link here.

Florida Mall Haul

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
So on Tuesday I went to the Florida Mall and today I'll show you my purchases.

From Aeropostale I bought two pairs of shorts. They can be worn for exercise but I don't do any of that so I wear them to sleep or lounge about in because they are really comfy.

Then from Charlotte Russe I bought two tops. One is a really thin long-sleeved top which says 'Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken'. I'm going to wear this with leggings and I think I might even travel in it. I also bought a crop top which I think I can wear casual with some shorts or dressy with a skirt.

From Lush I bought another Bubblegum Lip Scrub because I'm running low on my other one. I also bought a makeup brush from Forever 21.

Finally I bought Mac Face and Body Foundation in C2 which I will review after I have used it for a while since this is my first Mac Foundation.

What's On My iPhone (Updated)

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
I decided to post today instead of Wednesday because I just wanted to! So I change up my iPhone apps a lot because I just get so bored of them so I thought I would do another updated whats on my iPhone post.

So on the first page I have the apps that come with the phone but then I have two folders with apps I have bought and another with the more boring ones that come with the phone.

This is my photography folder where I have the usual videos and photos but then I also have Squaregram which is where I add borders to my instagram photos. I have Afterlight too which is where I edit all of my photos, I really like this app. I used to have a few different ones with different editing features but this one has it all. It costs but not very much to say how good it is. I also have PicLab HD which is where you can add text to your photos, the HD version costs because it has extra features but the normal version is free. I then have flipagram where I can put lots of photos into a video for social networks.

In the other folder I have two bookmarks. One tells me my Hollyoaks spoilers (sad I know) and the other are some really cute phone cases that I found. I also have The Daily Mail online and Google Translate.

Now for the more fun part, I have two folders on the next page but the rest are all out. I don't have that many apps in comparison to others but I still have a fair few. In the first folder is just YouTube and TubePlayer which is where I can cache youtube videos to watch them without internet. This is perfect for travel, I like to get lots saved and then watch them on the plane.

I then have Instagram (my name is ojflannery if you are interested in following!) and twitter (ojflannery again) and snapchat which are probably my most used apps. I also have tumblr which I only use for collecting quotes for my quotebook (i have a post on my quote books if you are interested) so if you want to have a quote overload in your feed then my name is ojflann on it.

I also have HiFutureSelf which is a lifesaver. It allows you to schedule texts to send to yourself to remember things. Its great if you are forgetful and you can schedule them for a year in advance. I also have Reminder Free which counts down the days until big events that I'm excited for.

I then have a folder with two apps in. Tags For Likes which I used to use for hashtags on my instagram photos but I don't use hashtags anymore so I should probably delete that. I also have We Heart It which is great for fashion photos and a mixture of girly photos. Its quite similar to tumblr really.

Then I have Candy Crush which I'm sure you'll all of heard of. I also have eBay and IMDb. IMDb allows you to search films, tv shows and celebrities and find out about them or when films are on/released etc. Then I have pinterest which I actually only really use for DIY ideas, makeup looks and nail art ideas.

Finally I have LepsWorld 3 which is just a game that I'm addicted to, I used to be and deleted it but since I re-got it I really like it again. And lastly, I have Kim Kardashian: HollyWood. I am fairly new to this game, I had heard so many people raving about it that I decided to see how good it was for myself. I love this, I am so addicted to it and it is actually so fun. I would definitely recommend trying it! My name is Quebfks if you want to add me in the Games Center and play with me. I know my name's a bit strange but I tried so many but they were all taken so I got annoyed and just clicked loads of keys so thats now my name….

Hope you enjoyed this post, what's your favourite app?

Summer Lovin' Tag

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 08:15 2 comments
Sorry I didn't post yesterday! I couldn't think of any post ideas so if you have any please comment below. I found this tag on youtube so I decided it would be a nice easy one to do whilst I think of better post ideas!

1. Summer Lipstick you're loving?
I don't wear a lot of lipstick in the summer but I wear lip balm and recently I've been loving the Burts Bees Lipbalms.

2. Summer nail polish you're loving?
During summer I love gel nail polish as you'll know if you've read my Summer Must-Haves post and I've just bought a new gel polish from Sally Hansen called Blue My Mind. I've never tried the gel polishes from Sally Hansen but so far I really like this one.

3. Bikini you're loving this summer?
I've been loving two new ones I've bought which were in my Huge Mixed Haul post if you want to see images.

4. Favourite Summer Frappuccino from Starbucks?
I don't drink many frappuccinos, only double chocolate chip. I know its not very summery but it tastes good!

5. Favourite fake tan?
I don't really use actual fake tan, I use tan enhancers and moisturisers and my two favourites are St. Tropez's Gradual Tan and Coppertone's Tan Enhancer.

6. Favourite Summer Song?
This one's difficult because I love so may but recently I've been really loving 5 Seconds of Summer's album and at the minute I really like the songs 18 and Good Girls.

7. Favourite Summer Accessory?
Again I've mentioned this in another post but I love anklets during the summer time.

8. Favourite Summer fragrance/perfume?
I think that The Body Shop's Indian Night Jasmine Perfume is a really summery scent and I love wearing it.

9. Summer Book you're loving?
I'm not very far into it but I've just started reading Eleanor & Park.

10. What are you most excited to do this summer?
Just relax in general with my family and friends!

I tag all of you to do this post!

MAC Painterly Paint Pot Review: Worth the Hype?

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
You'll have probably heard of the product I'm going to talk about today. This product is talked about a lot on youtube and on blogs and its the Mac Painterly Paint Pot.

What it claims:
'A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy and dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with MAC shadows and liners.'

This paint pot in particular is great as a base colour. Since it is long-lasting, I like to use it as my eyelid primer too under the rest of my shadows. However I use this most on its own. I have quite veiny eyelids and this colour cancels out the redness and covers the veins. It's the same colour as my skin so its great for a natural look.

You don't use much of this at once so it will last a long time as it does contain a lot of product. It retails at £15.50 in the UK and $20.00 in the US. This seems a lot for 5g of product but like I said, you use very little at a time. I purchased this on eBay because it was slightly cheaper than buying it at Mac so I would suggest looking elsewhere to see if you can purchase it for less.

To answer the question in the title, I do think this product is worth the hype and I'm glad I tried it out.

HUGE Mixed Haul

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 6 comments
I'm in Florida again at the minute and we all know how I do some serious damage in Florida… So today I have a really large haul for you. Since there are so many products, I'm not going to talk too much about them as I can review them later on.

Firstly, I went to Target and I bought a pack of 4 Burts Bees lip balms and a single one. I know it sounds a bit obsessive but I really wanted to try them. The coconut one is my favourite.

Also from Target I bought the Yes To facial wipes to remove my makeup, the new Maybelline Pumped Up mascara and the new Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation. I got the Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Petal Pusher.

Since I'm currently at the beach, I also got a bronzing suncream and the book 'Eleanor and Park' to read.

I also bought two bikini tops from Target but I bought the bottoms from Victorias Secret. These are the two bikinis, I used the same bottoms for both.

Then from JC.Penny I found two 'Its a 10' products on sale. I got the Leave-in conditioner and Volumising shampoo.

Then from Charming Charlie I got a really nice mint green watch.

Next I went to American Eagle Outfitters and I purchased this really nice floral dress. It was in the sale so it was really cheap and I thought I could easily dress it up with sandals and a cardigan or down with sneakers and a denim jacket.

Then from PacSun I got some dark grey, high-waisted shorts and a daisy vest top. I bought the top two sizes bigger than my usual XS (a Medium) so that it wasn't too cropped because I don't like showing my belly and this way it met my shorts.

I then went to Bath and Body Works and bought 10 hand sanitisers. I know that sounds like a lot but back home in the UK we don't have Bath and Body works and its 5 for $5 so I tend to stock up when I come.

Then I went to Ulta. It was my first time in Ulta and I loved it so much that I got a rewards card for it. It was buy one get one 50% of in Nyx so I got two butter glosses in the colours 'Cupcake' and 'Apple Struddle', the Full Coverage concealer and a lipliner.

I also got a shaving set which has 3 different razor heads for different things which I thought was great and it was half price. I also got Simples Eye Makeup Remover and a beauty blender dupe. The last thing I got from Ulta was The Body Shop's Coconut body scrub.

Highend vs Highstreet: Blush

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Hi everyone,
So today its another highend vs hughstreet but this time its all about blushers. I don't own many blushers but these are a comparison of some of the more expensive ones to the cheaper ones.

For highend I have Benefits Thrrrob blush. This is a very pale pink with a slight shimmer, it looks very natural. You have to apply a generous amount to see a difference with your cheeks with this product which is something I don't love but it is good quality. I got this free with a mobile phone but if I had to pay for it, I probably wouldn't splurge for this.

Then there's my Stila blush. I've had this a long time so I'm not sure on the colour but I love it. The colour looks so dull but on it looks gorgeous. Its quite an orangey pink colour and looks quite natural. I would definitely repurchase this. Its one of my favourite makeup items overall.

As for highstreet, I love the blushers from Bourjois. For the price, they are extremely pigmented and are available in so many colours. I have a slightly darker one which I love in the winter and I more pink shimmery one for the summer months. I love these blushes and actually prefer them to my benefit one.

I would definitely recommend the blushers from Bourjois for those of you on a budget because they are of very high quality but if you want to splurge on a blush, I would go for one by Stila.

My Summer Must-haves

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
Hey everyone,

So I am now in my summer holidays and am on holiday in Florida so I thought what better than to share my summer must-haves. These are just some of the things I love to have during the summer months.

1. Anklets
I love anklets but mine always break by the end of the summer because I wear them so much. I am obsessed with the infinity sign so I always get one with that on it. This year I got one from Urban Outfitters which you may have seen in my haul. I think it was actually a bracelet but I like to wear it on my ankle.
2. Henna Tattoos
Again, I really like to have a henna tattoo during the warmer months. I usually get one on my wrist and its usually an infinity sign. I go to the Beach a lot in the summer and I tend to get them in little Seaside shops. They're perfect for summer because they last a few weeks and then fade off in time for school.

3. Gel Nails
In summer, I spend a lot of time in water and with normal nail polish, it comes off very easily in the water so I love to have gel nails. They last all summer and I usually go for bright colours.

4. Lighter Hair
I can't dye my hair for school but during summer if I don't have chance to dye my hair I use some Sun in spray which lightens your hair naturally when out in the sun.

5. Tan Enhancer
I don't tan well and go on holiday for 6 weeks in the summer so I like to come back with a bit of a tan. To boost my tan I like to use a tan enhancer by Coppertone. I spend a few days trying to get a tan naturally but then after a week or so I like to use this tan enhancer at night. It applies like a moisturiser but then in future tanning sessions it'll help you tan more.

Lip Crayon Comparison

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
I have recently been loving lip crayons. I don't like wearing lipstick on an everyday basis, I prefer lip butters or balms so these crayons are perfect for me. They are very moisturising and not quite a lipstick.

I got two of Rimmel's Colour Rush's first as a present. I have the colours 100 (Give Me a Cuddle) and 120 (All you Need is Pink). I have done a full review on these which I will link here so go and look there for a more detailed review. Basically, these are very moisturising and the colour is very buildable but my favourite part about these is the smell. They smell so delicious.

Then for my birthday I got the other two lip crayons from two of my friends. First I'll talk about Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Bashful. This is such a great product. It is probably one of my favourite lip products and I really want to purchase some more of them. It is so moisturising and feels really light on your lips yet it is really glossy and gives a lot of colour. They are also really affordable compared to some lip crayons. You can buy them here.

Without Flash (From Left to Right: Rimmel Colour Rush in 100, Rimmel Colour Rush in
120, Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Bashful, Stila in Party Pink)
The final lip crayon is by Stila in the colour Party Pink. This is a very vivid, pigmented colour and is perfect for parties (like the name says). These crayons are a lot more pricey than other lip crayons as they are from Stila but they are of great quality. You can buy them here.

With Flash (From Left to Right: Rimmel Colour Rush in 100, Rimmel Colour Rush in
120, Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Bashful, Stila in Party Pink)
Overall I really like all of these crayons and would recommend all of them.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Recently as you'll have seen in my haul post, I bought the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation and as I said, I'm going to review it for you.

This foundation is very sheer and natural, just what I look for in a foundation. As you know I'm very fussy because I have combination skin and like a very natural finish whereby it won't appear that I'm wearing any foundation. I'd heard great things about this foundation and it sounded like something I'd love so I decided to try it out. I am so glad I did, I love this foundation.

This foundation is water-based and so you have to shake it before using it. I find that the best way to apply it is with your fingers. It is available in 9 shades and I would recommend asking the sales assistant to colour test you to allow you to get the perfect shade. I bought the shade B20 which matches me perfectly. It allows me to just apply it in the places I need it for a natural look and more for a dressy look. It is very buildable.

The packaging for this is very classy and looks like it doesn't hold much product but really it contains 30ml of foundation which is the average amount for drugstore and high-end foundations. The downside is that this costs £33.00 which is very expensive for makeup but in my opinion, it is definitely worth the money and I will continue to repurchase it over and over.

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
So on my recent shopping trip I purchased Benefits Gimme Brow. I've been wanting this for a while and I had enough Boots Advantage points to pick one up for free. As promised, I will review it for you today.

Benefits Gimme Brow is available in two shades: Light/medium and Medium/Deep so the colour range isn't huge which is a downside however the colour Light/medium is a good match for my brows.

What it claims:
This innovative brush-on fiber gel adheres to skin & hair…creating brows where before there were none. It builds easily for thick, lush arches, thanks to a tapered brush for blending & precision tip for shaping. Available in two shades.
• Water resistant
• Long-wearing
• Natural-looking
• Buildable

Some people like to use a pencil and this to set their brows but personally I just use this. I think that it makes a very natural look but if you apply more layers then it can look fuller. The applicator is very small making it very easy to get to all the hairs. I agree that this is a very water-resistant, long-wearing, natural-looking and buildable product.

The catch is that this product is very expensive at £17.50 for 3g but it does last a while because you don't use very much product at once. You can buy it here.

Real Techniques Brushes Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
When it comes to brushes, I absolutely love the ones by Real Techniques. With lots of brushes to choose from, I found it really difficult to narrow it down to which I should buy. today I'm going to review them for you.

The first brushes I got was a set. It was the travel essentials set containing the Multi-task brush, Essential foundation brush and domed shadow brush. I love the set and for a first lot of brushes to purchase, I would recommend these. This set contains different kinds of brushes, all of which you can use for different things. I like to use the Multi-task brush for powder but you can also use it for blush and bronzer. I use the domed shadow brush for concealer but you can also use it for eyeshadow which is its intended use. I like the essential foundation brush for foundation but I love using it for concealer too.

The second lot of brushes I got was the Starter set and the Core Collection. In the core collection, there are 4 brushes: the pointed foundation brush, buffing brush, contour brush and detailer brush. I like the pointed foundation brush of highlighting. The buffing brush is a very popular brush and is great for buffing foundation into the skin. I use the contour brush for contouring but sometimes blush or concealer. The detailer brush is great for inner corner highlight and highlighting the cupids bow.

The starter set contains: the base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, accent brush, fine liner brush and brow brush. The base shadow brush is my favourite eye brush. I use it for most of my eye makeup. The deluxe crease brush is quite a large brush for the eyes so its best to use it for base shadow or concealer. I like to use the accent brush for inner corner highlight and highlighting the brow bone. I use the fine liner brush for gel liner but I don't use this brush very often. Finally, I like to use the brow brush for the brows and lower lash line.

I then bought the blush brush. I like this for blush but also for bronzer.

Overall, I love these brushes and I look forward to buying more.
