Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
I haven't done a post like this before but I want to start doing them every so often. I'm going to talk about the reasons I love November. Its a bit like a favourites post but without naming products.

1. Bonfire Night
Although I don't usually celebrate Bonfire Night that much but I love seeing and hearing the fireworks and bonfires.

2. Christmas Music and Movies
I love the time when it's acceptable to listen to Christmas music and the other day I heard some playing in the shops. I also made a playlist on Spotfiy, it makes me so excited for Christmas. I also can begin to watch Christmas Movies!

3. Christmas Shopping
I love when the shops get all decorated and gifts and deals begin to come.

4. Colour
I log sit when the leaves begin to go red and orange and blow around in the wind.

5. Clothes
I love autumn clothes.. jumpers, leggings, boots.. They're so comfy!!

What do you love about November?

The Makeup Tag 2014

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 2 comments
I was tagged by harrietjacksonx to do this tag. I did it last year but I thought it would be good to try it again. I tag all of you to do this.

What foundation do you use?
I'm not a massive foundation-wearer, I prefer lighter foundation. My favourites are MAC Face and Body, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Maybelline Pure BB Cream.

How about concealer?
I love Maybelline's Age Rewind Corrector and Collection Lasting Perfection. I'd love to try one from MAC or Nars Creamy concealer though.

What do you think about false eyelashes?
I hardly even wear mascara so false lashes are quite dramatic on me. I hardly ever wear them but I think natural ones look nice.

What brand of mascara do you use?
I love all Maybelline mascaras, especially The Rocket and their clear mascara but recently I've been loving Benefit's They're Real.

Sephora or MAC?
I love both so it's really difficult… I'd probably have to say MAC just because its available in the UK whereas Sephora isn't but I love the variety of Sephora.

What makeup tools do you use?
I use brushes, eyelash curlers and beauty blenders and dupes.

Do you use an eyeshadow primer?
I don't wear eyeshadow that much but when I do, I use a cream eyeshadow as a base like MAC's Painterly Paint Pot.

What is your favourite eyeshadow?
I love Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I haven't go any but I've been on the hunt for some for a while now. My sister has some and I really like them, despite them being a little messy.

What are your favourite lipsticks?
I like lots of brands, mainly Rimmel and MAC but I also love the Revlon Lip Butters.

What is your favourite blusher to use?
I like my Stila Blush but my favourite one is MAC's Cream Blush in Ladyblush.

Do you use drugstore makeup?
Yes, I love it.

Name a makeup crime you hate.
A foundation line.

Do you like colourful shades of eye makeup or neutral?
Neutral but I love experimenting with colour.

If you were to leave the house with one makeup item, what would it be?
Concealer, 100%.

Could you leave the house with no makeup on?
Yes, I do quite frequently and when I do have makeup on, its usually very little.

In your opinion what is the best makeup brand?
From the drugstore I love Rimmel and Maybelline and high-end I love MAC and Benefit.

Clearasil Rapid Action Treatment Pads and Cream Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 3 comments
After forgetting to bring my skincare products to Florida with me, I had to go out and buy some new items. I spotted these on the shelf and decided to give them a try.

My skin hasn't been in the best condition recently because I've really been neglecting my skincare routine. I needed something to really sort it out and get it back to usual and these products are a new staple makeup bag item for me.

I only wash my face with a cleanser and Clarisonic once a day because otherwise its too harsh on my sensitive skin. Usually I wash it at night so in the morning I use a Clearasil Rapid Action Treatment Pad all over my face instead. I follow it up with some of the cream as well as using the cream after cleansing at night too.

The treatment pads are very highly concentrated in Alcohol which some skin may find extremely irritating and it may even sting a little. Although I didn't find this, I did find that they really stung my eyes and I have to close my eyes whilst wiping my face. These treatment pads are supposed to unclog your pores causing you to breakout less and reduce redness of current blemishes within 4 hours. I really did see major improvements in my skin overnight with this product. My blemishes hadn't cleared completely but I definitely saw a difference in my skin and a spot that I could feel coming had cleared completely.

Obviously I used the cream alongside the treatment pads so its difficult to tell which product really helped my skin the most but I would definitely say that this duo really does help to reduce blemishes. I have bought the product again to take back to England with me because it really is great.

For $6.97 for the treatment pads and $8.97 for the cream, this is definitely worth the purchase.

Nars Blush in Orgasm: Worth the hype?

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 1 comments
Today I'm going to be talking about a very talked about product in the beauty world: Nars Blush in Orgasm.  This blush is raved about so much that when I received it in a beauty bag, I was excited to try it out for myself and ask myself 'Is is worth the hype?'

This blush is Nars' most popular shade and is used by many beauty lovers. It is a rosy pink shade with tiny gold glimmers in it. I thought that the gold flecks would make this more unwearable as I prefer natural blushes but it doesn't show as gold sparkles, it just gives you a 'lit from within' look.

This is a very pigmented blush and so a little goes a long way in terms of applying it. I do really like wearing it as it feels very fancy in its black iconic Nars packaging but personally, I don't see the major hype. Don't get me wrong, this is a great product but I think that there are lots of drugstore versions that compete very strongly with it.

I do love reaching in my collection for this Nars blush but for $30.00 I wouldn't repurchase it on its own. I got is as part of a set containing 6 Sephora products for just $39.00 so it was well worth the money on that front but I would not purchase it separately just for the fact that I think you could get a similar blush for a lot cheaper.

Sweater Weather Tag

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 0 comments
I tag harrietjacksonx, beautybyeden and all of you to do this tag preparing for the colder months.

Favourite Candle Scent?
I always go for vanilla scented candles from Yankee Candle although I have been wanting to purchase one from Bath and Body Works with a more Autumnal Scent. What would you recommend?

Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate?
I don't actually like any hot drinks as much as I would love to sit with a mug of hot chocolate on a cold day, I just don't like the taste of them.

Whats The Best Fall Memory You Have?
I don't have any specific memories but I just love watching the leaves change colour and blow around in the wind.

Which Makeup Trend Do You Prefer… Dark Lips or Winged Liner?
I like the look of both but I really don't suit heavy eye makeup so I'd have to say Dark Lips.

Best Fragrance For Fall?
I don't wear particular scents for different seasons although I love the Bath and Body Works Farmstand Apple scent.

Favourite Thanksgiving Food?
In the UK, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving.

What is Autumn Weather Like Where You Live?
Cold and windy. In England, it usually is cold but you can tell when it gets to Autumn as the leaves begin to fall of the trees and blow around in the wind. It gets much cooler.

Most Worn Sweater?
I wear so many jumpers and cardigans in Autumn and Winter that it's difficult to say! They're my favourite thing to wear.

Must-Have Nail Polish This Fall?
I have been loving Barry M's Gelly Polishes in Plum and Watermelon.

Football Games or Jumping in Leaves?
I'm not much of a sports person so jumping around in the leaves.

Skinny Jeans or Leggings?
Leggings all the way, they're my favourite.

Boots or Uggs?
I wear both a lot but probably more boots than Uggs.

Is Pumpkin Spice worth the hype?
I don't really like Pumpkin so I'd have to say no.

Favourite Fall TV Show?
I watch the same shows all year round but recently I've been liking Gossip Girl and Once Upon A Time.

What song really gets you into the fall mood?
I'm not really sure about this one because I listen to whatever musics popular then and that I like, not really for the season.

Favourite Blogs Of The Month

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 7 comments
Last month, I explained that I would be doing a post like this monthly recommending blogs to you that I've loved reading. I've been doing some searching around for good blogs and some of you have commented yours as well and have put together this post about them. I hope you enjoy it and feel free to comment your blog below to be featured in next months post.

I've decided that because I have quite a few of you that have left comments or that I have loved, I'm just going to talk about my few favourites and then list other favourites this month so the post doesn't become long and boring.

1. Leigh-Belle
Leigh-Belle's posts have some lovely outfit ideas in them. She often puts together collages of different clothing that would make a great outfit. She also did the Favourite Tag that I did last month which was great to read her answers.

2. Alana Wise
Alana's blog has been one of my favourites to read this month because it is so professional. She has so many great reviews that contain lots of photos and swatches. She also has a giveaway open now for the Naked 3 palette as a thank you for hitting 350 followers on bloglovin. Help her to hit 10,000 pageviews!

3. Lauren's Looks
Lauren does lots of inspiration posts and face of the day which I find quite different and interesting to read. Recently, I've been clicking on her blog on bloglovin a lot more often to find inspiration for my own makeup looks.

4. Emdigo

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream Review

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 3 comments
Firstly,  I just want to say that the reply button on my blog doesn't seem to be working but I do reply to all of your comments by email or leave a comment over on your blog. Just wanted to say sorry for that.

It feels like a while since I've done a real review on a product so today I thought I'd review this new purchase of mine: Maybelline's Dream Pure BB Cream.

What it claims:
Our Dream Pure BB Cream is a 1-step wonder for healthy-looking skin today and clearer skin tomorrow.
  • Clears acne
  • Conceals imperfections
  • Minimizes look of pores
  • Reduces appearance of redness
  • Adjusts to skin tone
  • Hydrates and smoothes
  • Enhances and clarifies skin
  • Is oil-free, with a lightweight feel

2% salicylic acid is one of the highest percentages of this powerful blemish-fighter that you can get without a prescription, yet it's gentle enough to use every day.

Maybellines Dream Pure BB cream is a twist on their original Dream BB Cream. It's purpose is to treat acne using salicylic acid whilst still giving your skin some coverage whilst looking natural and fresh.

I've found that this BB cream gives a lovely natural coverage which is perfect for everyday use. It looks lovely layered too if you want it to have a higher coverage as its extremely sheer. It is very lightweight as it claims.

This is a very watery bb cream, it remind me of MAC's Face and Body Foundation but I feel better about wearing it as it is good for your skin.

This BB Cream comes in a squeeze tube which is great to get just the right amount of product you want. It contains 30ml of product which is average for a foundation.

The downside to this product is the colour selection. There are only five shades ranging from Light to Deep. I don't struggle with a colour because Medium seems to match my skin great but some might struggle with the lack of selection.

This BB cream is one of the cheapest you'll find at just £6.99. I think this is a great price as I seem to reach more for this than my Smashbox BB Cream, mostly because I feel like its better to be putting on my skin and I like the natural coverage.

I really would recommend this BB Cream, I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.

Happy Birthday!

Posted by Olivia Jayne at 00:00 4 comments
One year ago today, I began this blog after a lot of persuasion from my best friend (harrietjacksonx). I finally agreed with the strict condition that it stay anonymous. One year later and I am so thankful to her for practically forcing me to do this. I love it so much and can't imagine not doing it.

I feel as though my posts have improved greatly since my first ever post - a review which I will link here. With over 2500 of you following me on bloglovin and over 10,000 page views, I feel so grateful to all of you reading this. I've had over 360 wonderful, sweet comments that I get on a regular basis put a smile on my face as I remember the first comment I got and how proud I was as I texted my best friend and we both had a mini celebration. I remember how every time I got an email informing me that I had another follower, making my overall total 12, the many texts that were exchanged between the two of us.

Despite now gaining followers daily, I am still so happy when I see that email and I can't thank you all enough. I hope I can continue to make posts that you will enjoy.

Thank you <3
